Undo Me, Lord
Some days, I become overwhelmed with the “un-dones” in my life – the pile of bills, the half-written thank-you notes, the half-finished phone call return list, the basket of laundry only partially folded. I focus on the “Not Done” list rather than the “Got Done” list, and honestly, this knocks me incapable of tacking the “To Do” list with joy. Then I’m reminded: HE WHO BEGAN A GOOD WORK IN ME WILL BE FAITHFUL TO COMPLETE IT… (Phil. 1:6) And I remember that I, too, am a work in progress. God’s not finished with me either! And with a deep breath, I say, “Ahhhhhhhhh…”
So, Lord, undo me that I might be made complete — in You and in Your beautiful image. Thank you for the “God Done” list in my life, which is VERY long! I have so much for which to be thankful! Help me to be patient with myself, and to proclaim each new day what the Psalmist (Moses) wrote many years ago…
“Establish the work of my hands for me. Oh yes, establish the work of my hands!” (Psalm 90:17) Amen.
